James Walbourne and Kami Thompson, both acclaimed artists in their own right, got together as a couple and later as a musical partnership in 2011. Dead Flamingoes sing songs of “love, rage, loss and redemption. There’s a little country, some rock and roll and a lot of folk. But, mostly, there’s the most precious, the heaviest of the musical elements, soul.”
Having worked with http://www.eta-i.org/valium.html Kami for several years, she asked us to first design a logo for the band. They knew what it was they wanted – a skeletal flamingo with Sixties style psychedelic typography and that’s what we gave them. Next, as word of this new folk duo spread across London, we were asked to create posters, a flyer and later a website.
